The Spirit of Faith Newsletter - July 1981

This brother's story warmed our hearts!  He walked across the entire island to hear the Word of God taught!  His name was Lenny Lewis.  He is a minister of the Gospel!

Jamaica Missions Report! This issue was unusual in that it did not have our regular teaching article!  Instead we had pictures of our Jamaican Missions Trip!     Here, Dr. Bill teaches in a church out in the Jamaican countryside. The people were hungry for the Word!     Dr. Bill shared the Word in the churches in and around Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.   Beechard Moorefield taught in the afternoon sessions and, at times, traveled to other villages.

He cried when we showed him that there were methods to look up the meaning of scriptures in the original languages!  We gave him Strong's Concordance, Dr. Bill's newsletters, books, tapes and other materials to help in his studies!  He had Beechard Moorefield and Dr. Bill baptize him in the hotel swimming pool one night (very late) after we showed him how to use the tools we had given him, and shared the uncompromising Word of Faith message with him.  We knew that God had great things in store for his life!  In was like seeing the book of Acts come to life as we ministered across the island nation!

Pictured at right is Brother Winston Garrell, who with his brother Richard head up teh Missions for Christ organization that brought us down to Jamaica for these meetings.  He led in praise and worship at our sessions.  He is using a Public Address system that we presented to the organization as a gift.  We were able to give both or our substance, and of our hearts by the Spirit!  It was truly a glorious time in the Lord!

There were one hundred and forty eight people born again, one hundred and thirty six Baptized in the Holy Spirit, one hundred and thirty six healed physically: including one crippled little seven year old boy, two deaf girls, four and seven in age; four blind women, four people with various tumors, thirteen folks with arthritis, one corn and one goiter!  A handkerchief taken from Brother Beechard Moorefield was laid on a lady that healed of blocked tubes caused by tumors!  Praise God!  You can see why we were so excited by our first International Missions Trip!
